Turkey E-Visa and Health Entry Form - Step-by-Step Instructions

While planning a trip might not be the same as it once was, as of June 2021, most countries have started to reopen and ease border restrictions for tourists.

Turkey started to reopen international flights. Regular flights are also running to and from other nations, including the USA, Austria, Croatia, Greece, Germany, the Netherlands, and Singapore.

Turkey requires some documents to enter, however. We provide a detailed guide on how to get everything in order.

What is a Turkey E-Visa?

An electronic visa or e-visa is the digital version of the usual travel visa that authorizes the applicant's entry into a specific foreign country. If you couldn't print the approved e-Visa, the officers at the port of entry accept downloaded e Visa confirmation through your phone, laptop, or tablet.

A Turkey e -visa holder is eligible to stay up to 30 days in a total of 90 days, depending on the nationality of the applicant. This new system made visa processing for business and tourism travel to Turkey effortlessly and cost-effective as long as you complete your application.

Before You Apply for an E-Visa

Before you start your application, make sure you meet the criteria to be eligible for a Turkish e-visa.

1. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months

Passport used should be at least 6 months, counting from the day you intend to visit Turkey. Particular countries can visit Turkey with their national identity card with them. However, other countries must have supporting documents like visas, residence permits from Schengen countries, Ireland, United Kingdom, and the United States. Note that citizens from Egypt who are under 20 or over 45 years old are not required to fulfill the Electronic visas or e-residence permit requirements.

2. The purpose of your travel must be business or tourism

You must explain that the purpose of their traveling is for tourism, trade, or business purposes. Certain nationalities must have a round-trip ticket, hotel reservation, and financial means (their monthly salary or an amount of at least $50/day). In addition, the traveler must declare that they do not intend to enter Turkey for employment or study purposes. The e-visa application and Turkey assume you obey these rules but do not ask for any such documents during the e-visa application.

3. Your nationality must be eligible for an e-visa

You are only eligible if you're from one of the following countries. For everyone else, the only other option is to get a Turkey visa stamp through the local Turkish consulate or embassy. To view the list of eligible nations, scroll all the way down!

How do I apply for a Turkey E-Visa?

The e-visa application is split into three (4) sections. We will walk you through each one:

  1. Application Creation
  2. Personal and Trip Information
  3. Payment

New Application

Provide the name of your country and the type of travel document. Select your travel document as ‘Ordinary Passport’, because you are visiting Turkey for tourism purposes. The country is your nationality, not where you live. For instance, a Chinese national living in the United States should select China. The visa fees vary by country.

Personal and Trip Information

You have to provide personal details about yourself such as passport details, parents’ names, and addresses. Review your information, click ‘Verify’ to initiate a verification email.

Go to your email, and click on the verification link.

Payment

From the verification email, you’ll be redirected to a payment gateway. Pay online, and get your visa instantly. Your visa is also sent via email to you.

How much does a Turkey E-visa cost?

The cost depends on your nationality. Once you put your arrival date - you'll be able to see the duration of your visa, the type (single- or multiple-entry), and the cost.

The fees vary based on your nationality and type of travel document. For example, Americans have to pay a $50 fee but Chinese nationals have to pay $60. The fees hover around $50. Turkey does not process any refunds so if your trip gets canceled, this is a sunk cost. We recommend getting a Turkey e-visa a day before your trip.

The 90-day Turkey E-Visa Rule

If the duration of 90-day-stay on your e-visa expired within 180 days as of your first entry date, you can reapply for an e-visa 180 days later starting from the first entry date. If you spent some part of the duration of a 90-day-stay on a multiple entry e-visa within 180 days as of your first entry date and the rest expired after 180 days elapsed as of the first entry date, it is possible to reapply for an e-visa. The important thing to remember is that you can stay in Turkey up to 90 days every 180 days starting from the first entry date.

Overstaying your Turkish E-Visa

If you overstay your visa, you might be asked to pay fines, deported, or banned future travel to Turkey for a specific period of time

Turkey E-Visa Family Application

The best way to save yourself the time of entering the same information repeatedly is to use Atlys. The way to this on the portal is to fill up your personal information and then click on 'Add A New Person'. You can only apply for a family application if the country of origin is the same for everyone. Enter everyone's information and then proceed to payment where you can pay for the entire group together.

Are you required to quarantined upon arrival in Turkey?

As of June 2021, there is no mandatory quarantine upon arrival in Turkey as long as you have proof of your negative PCR test result obtained within 72 hours of your departure. You do not exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19. Travelers in Brazil, South Africa, or India must quarantine for 14 days from their arrival in Turkey in the last ten days. Travelers from Brazil or South Africa must then take a PCR test on the 10th day of their quarantine. If the test result is negative, they would have to end their quarantine. Travelers from India must take a PCR test on their 14th day of quarantine. If they tested negative, they would be allowed to end their quarantine.

COVID-19 Entry Requirements For Turkey

Are you wondering what you'll do when you get to Turkey despite the pandemic? No need to worry about anything. Restaurants, hotels, and attractions are all fully open in Turkey. There is a current curfew in some areas, as well as travel restrictions. Still, all of these regulations are only applicable to Turkish residents and citizens, not foreign tourists. So they can go to different places for different attractions. We visited a lot of historical landmarks in Turkey such as the silk road, Göbeklitepe, The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Halfeti, and a lot more.

A Safe Tourism Certification Program was implemented in Turkey. Accommodations that are under this certified program passed the monthly inspections for health and hygiene. That's why it's safe to stay in these hotels and accommodations.

  2. Pay with your credit card.
  3. Get your barcode by registering at the counter.
  4. Finally, to view your test results, tap on "I wish to get my test results" button on the kiosk.

Schengen visa holders, regardless of their nationality, can enter Turkey through an e-visa. They do not have to apply for a traditional visa. However, a Schengen visa, by itself, does not let a holder enter Turkey.
